So after a wonderful trip, I'm having a pretty rough first day back. Here are some highlights. So I'm on my way home this morning hauling a good thirty lbs of luggage on my back and I was going to stop at the McDonald's to pick up a copy of the Moscow Times and an EggMc Muffin. Salivating my way to the door of the world's busiest McDonalds, I find it doesn't open till 7:30 AM. Great. Now I have no food, no information, and I'm late for school. No worries, I'll just pick up today's Isvestia newspaper that always includes an edition of the New York Times on Mondays. Nope, I had exactly nine rubles in my pocket and the paper costs ten. On my way late to home, just as rush hour was starting to pick up. I realize my keys aren't in my pocket. After about a half hour of freaking out I realized I had put them away in my backpack during the trip so I wouldn't lose them. Good idea. When I get to Russian class, I'm being ridiculed by my teacher for not doing the homework. Then I can barely keep my eyes open for my Econ course. There is one more class today at four and Iris and I plan on working out in a few. I'm dead and I have a project to finish soon for the World Bank. A final due at the end of the week.

One good thing did happen today. Next to the annoyingly closed McDonalds is the city's new Christmas Tree at Pushkinskaya square. It's very pretty. I'll try and get a daytime shot soon.

Turkey details to come soon
