вид (vid) - look(s), appearance, air
с убитым видом — with a crushed look, looking crushed/depressed
I was s ubitim vidom when I recieved about the hundredth Chuck Norris facts knock-off in a forwarded e-mail. They are all the same except substitute general male movie/television star at the beginning of the facts and you have something kinda funny, but really, only simple overstatement which actually resolves itself within the context. Sadly the funniest part of the facts(i.e. its overwhelming irony with the fact that the subject is Chuck Norris. Not Jack Bauer. Not David Hasslehoff. Not Paul O'Connell (non-Irish don't ask)) is utterly and completely lost. Chuck freakin' Norris! Is it only me and Conan who realize how absolutely rediculous these jokes originally were? Aya! All I have to say is: Long live Walker, Texas Ranger.
If you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, ask me about it sometime later.

Срок (Srok) - 1)term; date, deadline 2) period
в срок, к сроку - in time.
Since I have a quicker ride to work, if I leave the apartment at 8:30, I will easily get to my office in time by nine. Unfortunately Fiona works a bit farther down the line and apparently I have been getting her into work chronically late. Whoops. Looks like I'll have to try harder to be v srok.
