I absolutely HATE french keyboards! So they do this mumbly jumbly thing where the W Q A M Z and other various characters are mixed up; seemingly just for the hell of it! There, I think those last two sentences took me about five minutes to write. Oh yeah, you also have to press SHIFT to get to the period. You would think they would just a little more often.
So while my buddies die in the frigid temps of Russia, It's almost tropical over here! Today it got to about twelve celcius with plenty of rain. Tim and I (mostly Tim) were craving some Pho after a late wake up when we left his gaff for a quick fifteen minute mozy to the restaurant. Then it started. Something akin to a monsoon. I don't even know if my vocabulary is right there, but I'm gonna go for it anyway. So we run back to his flat to get an umbrella and other various equipment you might need in Guadalajara come mid-July. I warned that it might pass over, but Tim was insistent. So we ran back, prepared for war and got outside to almost clear skies and no rain. Gotta love it. To top everything off, the pho place was closed when we finally got there, an hour after we had originally set off for food. I think Vietnamese enjoy their "tecknicheski pererifs" as well. Go-figure.
Tonight we venture out to seem Quebecois jazz at the local Czech cultural center; as you do. my brain is now tired from writing such a long message on the French keyboard. Oy!

So classes are now in full swing in Paris. Here's a quick look at what I'm taking:
*Intermediate French I
*Comparative Health Systems: France and the US
*European Integration (All about the EU)
Looks like I'm gonna try and swing me an internship (Lord, that went well last time!). Big difference here: They have this whole internship network set up where I dont have to go around like a chicken without a head like I did last time. They seem to really have their stuff together. Looks like the only way I can mess this one up is with my terrible French. A definite possibility.
So while I chill here with cool rain falling outside, it is currently about -25 celcius in Moscow. Whoa! Somebody please write me and let me know that you are still alive! That weather is rediculous!
I don't think my host mother expected it, but I am pretty much settled in. I think she's used to jittery students that have a tough time adjusting to living abroad, but I think the best thing she can prolly do is cook me hot food and let me chill. And speak French. I think I understand her English about as well as she understands my French; so when we're speaking to each other everything just goes completely arse-ways!
Just sent in my first app to a firm in Moscow for this summer. Keep the fingers crossed!
