Today was the kind of day...

that I was hoping to have yesterday: overall, fairly productive.

This morning I dragged my lazy ass out of bed (I remembered to leave the metal thingy up this time) to get to St. Sulpice's 9am mass. Sort of a wierd tradition I have, but the only day I really like getting up early for mass is Ash Wednesday. Can't remember the last time I didn't get up early for it. Guess that gives you an insight as to how wild and crazy my fat Tuesday was. Wooo.

The church is gorgeous, even when it's under renovation. Naturally, the crowd at 9am was smaller than normal so the mass was held at the chapel at the very back of the gigantic church. I thought this was funny, becuase I kept remembering that scene from the Da Vinci code inside the very same walls. But honestly, a 6foot5 man, bleeding from the hips, doing mischievous deeds and paying homage to the "P.S." suspiciously on the windows of the church, was enough to get me through the homily at least. Actually, today was a Parisian first: mass in under an hour. The archbishop at Notre Dame might want to give it a try. I know we were all happier for it this morning.

Then I went to my French class at 11 which I have come to not look forward to. It's not that the teacher is mean, or bad, we just don't have enough class, and I have a sneaking suspicion she does a line or two before class. Today I got ten out of twenty correct on our weekly conjugation test. This was an honest improvement. So my classmate gives her score and recieves a "Well done!" from the teacher. I was quite proud of my new high score on the quiz, and she in turn gave me a "It's better!" Thanks. Appreciate it.

After class I decided to go get my battle shopping done; getting ready for another rugby game tomorrow. I was sent to a couple stores by French nitwits, but on the last try, I found a gold-mine! Paris' equivalent of SportMaster Diskont is how I would best describe it. I got a mouthpiece, paddy-t-shirty thingy, rugby socks (I didn't know they were different from soccer socks!) and new laces for my cleats. All for 30euro. Can't beat that. I was very happy with my purchases. I think my body will also be generally happier tomorrow during the game.

I then got back to school for some good one-on-one with the books. Gotta impress my polisci teacher with my comments in class, 'cause she's not gonna be impressed with my final paper judging from how it looks right now: completely red after my French teacher got done with it. That and it's really going at a snail's pace with 6 more pages to go. Oy.

I just got home about an hour ago to a huge pasta dinner and a clean room. The room part was a bit of a surprise because I thought the cleaning lady that comes every Wednesday hated me. Turns out she doesn't. She even left me a little surprise on my bed (see pic) from a guy that might have been left on the floor this morning.

A good day, but I could use with some more studying tonight. I am going to London this weekend afterall. Oh, did I forget to tell people about that? Sorry. There you go. Now you know!

For now I have some vintage John Mayer helping me wind down the night and get ready for quite possibly one of the most hectic activity/study weekends known to man. Is there such a thing as the real world? If there is, be sure not to let me know about it.
